Maa Skandamata 5th Form Of Goddess Durga

On the fifth day, the Panchami of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Skandamata, the mother of Lord Kartikeya(the chief commander of all Gods in the war against demons). Skand means lord Kartikeya therefore the name is called Skandmata. She carries a little Kartikeya on her lap. She also carries lotus in both hands.

Celebration in Navratri:

On the fifth day of Navratri, devotees pay homage to Maa Skandamata. The color associated with this day is gray, which symbolizes the strength and power of a mother’s love. Offerings include fruits, flowers, incense, and special prayers dedicated to her and Lord Skanda.
